Subject: Prima Soft Gala Pointe Shoe

My 11 year old daughter was recently promoted to the elemtary pointe class at her ballet school and is scheduled to begin pointe in about 2-3 weeks. She has been told that because her her foot size and shape, she should go with Bloch. She is very small for her age (she still wears size 7 clothes) and has a small foot. Her metatarsals are broad and her toes even in length. Our city is very limited in ballet supplies and we were only able to find two pairs small enough for her foot that did not pinch...the Bloch Aspiration and the Prima Soft Gala. She prefers the Prima Soft. Is the Prima Soft shoe a good choice for a beginner? And what should I look for in a pointe shoe when it comes to the shank, vamp, etc? Thanks for any information that anyone can provide to me. My e-mail address is buttercupkitten2@aol.com.
Sincerely, Kathryn J.
