When I first started, I used Bunheads, ture they were nice and comfy but I would auctrually suggest you use nothing at all but tape if you must. If you ever want to go into professional, you will find that most company will allow only tape or nothing.

It's a good idea to start will paddings as I did, just to get use to the whole point work. But eventually try to drop it. Practice at home at least once (5 mins will do, then gets longer as you fell more comfortable) everyday without pad and use pad in the lesson only untill you feel VERY comfortable without pad.
Also, don't force it. When your feet/toes are really hurting, stop, rest or you'll get really bad blisters and bleeding.

Just take it easy and slowly, that's the whole idea of 5 mins at home everyday and not in lesson (you get told what to do in lesson and not as much in your own pace)

Good Luck!!
