I have chosen again the CNN Learning Resourses site for its interesting articles. The text that I chose was “School Voucher Initiative Battle in California”. It is about a new initiative in California: Proposition 38. Such propositon offers parents of public school children the freedom to choose where their children go to school. If it passes, each child will receive a voucher of $4,000 to attend any school. However, teachers’ unions are against Proposition 38. They feel that the initiative takes badly needed money away from public schools.

My performance in the exercises were very good and I think students from both low and high intermediate levels will enjoy it. I did not have any problems with vocabulary but it occured to me that these readings can be quite demanding from us sometimes. For that reason, I would like to share a great discovery: two wonderful on-line dictionaries I found. www.hyperdictionary.com and http://dictionary.cambridge.org . Enjoy!
