Subject: Reading 2 - Erastus Smith

Text: Erastus Smith

Summary: The text talks about the life of Erastus Smith. Such a person was a deaf man who fought at the Alamo battle for the Texas Revoulition in which the Texas state got its freedom from Mexico. Erastus himself had a great ability to discover where the enemies were even though he was deaf. At first, Smith did not want to fight for the Texas Revolution because of his wife's family Mexican heritage. As he was prohibited to see her, he decided to take part of the battles. He played a great role at the Revolution and was nominated a captain. He died at the age of 50, a year and a half later when Texas got its freedom from Mexico.

Performance: Reading and questions - 100%.
Vocabulary - 5 out of 6.

Reasons to visit the site: The site brings interesting activities which do not take a long time to be done. Such activities are easy as well as nice. Erastus Smith's biography interested me the most because I have been to Alamo and lived in Texas for a year and since then I've been keen to find more information about the story of Texas.
