Causes of Hearing Loss

People can lose their hearing at any age. Accidents; medicine or drugs taken by the mother; illnesses; and genetic syndromes may cause prenatal deafness. The Waardenburg’s Syndrome is a common genetic syndrome related to deafness. It’s characteristics are pigment disorders, such as two different color eyes. Some people with this syndrome may present some pigment disorders but not be deaf. The Usher Syndrome is also common. Children with this syndrome are born with hearing loss and later lose their vision. The child will have problems seeing well in the dark and will have only a ‘tunnel vision’ and eventually may become blind or partially blind.


I got 96% in the exercises. I only got one question wrong due to lack of attention.
