Ahem.
First off, great episode as usual. After the heart-shredding beginnings of the last episode, it was nice to kick of this one with a laugh. Poor Angel, every parent's nightmare indeed!
I like Liz in that she was such a strong presence. Her sudden swings from hyper-hyper happiness to rather violent actions were frankly unnerving, especially her displeasure at being brushed off in favour of Tibby. Eek.
Poor Mrs Wilkins, she does mean well but at some point they all grow up and move away. Something she's obviously aware of even if she doesn't want it to happen.
Oh, and Angel's 'It's war,' comment after seeing the car? LOL!
And now I'm very, very confused. I think I'm beginning to understand what Liz is/was. But how on earth Mr Rayne wound up appearing from an oily portal completely escapes me. And as for Lilah... Well, now that was unexpected.
So, is any of the woman who's come back Lilah, or is it just her form and memories that have been borrowed?
See, the problem is, I'm a helpless romantic at heart despite my best intentions. I've always remembered Spike's comment when he realised that Willow had brought Buffy back. That if even just one tiny little part of the woman on the stairs had been Buffy then he would not have allowed anyone to lay a finger on her, no matter how damaged/evil/corrupt the rest of her was.
I feel a little bit the same with Lilah.
But I doubt Wes will, which is just going to painful. Because yes, Tibby is very nice, and safe, in the kind of way that we could all see that Buffy and Riley were safe and should be good for each other. But Tibby against Lilah? No comparison. It may be twisted, wrong and just...wrong, but Wes/Lilah is a ship that so far has yet to fully hit the rocks.
However this turns out, this is going to be one hell of an interesting ride! Two of the Whedeon-verse's most complex and dark characters are back on the scene. Whether or not it's actually them still needs to be be determined, but it's mighty fine to have them back all the same :)
