Incredibly well-crafted - I could visualize every nuance from the gorgeous descriptive exposition, and hear every line of dialogue, as you really captured the "voices" of the characters. Also loved the life-affirming message in the middle of the chaos. Willow really got a chance to shine in this, and again, the life-affirming aspects of her path were beautifully reinforced in the symbolism of the tree and the baby. Love the poetic use of language ("crop circles of rain" - gorgeous!). The use of rain and pestilence also underscores the tone of sadness accompaning the gang's struggle to reclaim Wes.

I really took my time and read this slowly this time. It's an episode that deserves time and attention to savor. This was a joy to read.

For some reason I just love the image painted at the end of the teaser. Rain and blood and one powerful new vampire.

"Something bad is already here."

Good point.

Lilah oddly enough seems to have softened with being a vampire, her 'Oh poo!' comment made me smile. Got a little glimpse of her older sharper self later though. A slaughter of the innocents. Of course, the perfect night out for two tasteful vamps :)

Willow was cool, at the end reminding us that she was considered the brainy one of the Scoobies for a reason. Plus, it's always good to see her using the earth magic the way she did just before BtVS ended. As long as she sticks with AI, they have a good fighting chance against Wes whether or not he has magic.

Speaking of. Loved Wes in this ep. He slips into the villain role with alarming ease and that teaser scene at the beginning like I said was very powerful. He also still has the sense to realise that maybe the world ending is not in his best interests. I think he likes the world the way it is, so no real surprise that he decided to give AI a helping hand. They all recognised that they had come to rely on him incredibly when it came to research. And they have yet to adjust to not having him around, though I think they had begun that process quite well by the end.

I do feel very sorry for Connor. He chose his own 'misson', the homeless shelter, and then had to watch it all being destroyed. And while he seems very fond of Angel, it must be so galling for him to watch everyone baulk at the suggestion of killing the creature responsible for the massacre.

All in all, another fun, if rather damp, episode. Well done!

Lilah has always had to be a touch, strong, unfeeling female among the W/H ranks, but with Wes she has a powerful and protective ally, and can let her softer feminine side show a bit. The scary thing is, it's kinda sweet. They don't have to be afraid to show their love for each other, since they don't have any "conscience" to tell them it's wrong or right. Mnnn, it *is* scary how easily Wes embraced evil - why is it we just love those bad boys!

Ironic that Wes and Lilah have somehow managed to achieve their happy ending while every other couple has hit the conscience barrier.

Go them! :)

I hope I got across what I saw in my head. The idea of it was so clear, it made the words I choose seem unsatisfatory. I was really focused on Vamp Wes and didn't even realize until you pointed it out how Willow sentric this ep was. Her part just flowed.

I'm happy and sad now

This is my last ep for ARV. It's been a terrific ride. I stress out over every ep, but I wouldn't give up the experience for anything. I would be honored to join this group in future projects in a moments notice. It's been great and I love you all!

Well thank you for many a highly riveting and diverting read. I really appreciate all the stress you've suffered for these eps :)

And you know, you guys could always do those one off ep specials for Christmas, Easter, or Children in Need...

(Um, that's assuming enough characters survive to actually star in such an ep!)
