- Feis America -- Kathleen O'Reilly-Wild, 22:13:52 08/11/08 Mon [1]
Greetings from Feis America magazine! We met many wonderful people when we launched Feis America at N.A.N., at Nation's Capital Feis and at the McInerney Feis in Worcester, MA. We have had dozens of requests for our popular Feis America Rocks tees (soon available on the website!) and are doing our best to attend as many events as we have been invited to around North America.
Feis America will be published bi-monthly starting with the Nov/Dec 2008 issue which will be released to subscribers at the end of September and then distributed free at 10 events in all 7 IDTANA regions this fall.
www.FeisAmerica.com is a work in progress, and I invite you to check back frequently as we build a virtual Feis community for Irish dance enthusiasts in North America and beyond. Click on About Us to learn a little more about our rich family-oriented editorial content.
If you have seen our 4 page sneak preview piece, you know we will have original serial fiction by Rod Vick, an informative column called Step With Character authored by a renowned psychologist and a regular event calendar as well as regular features on Feis Families, Feis Mentors, Adult ID, Feis reviews from all 7 regions with lots of photos. True to a Feis, we will include music, art, fiction, language and even recipes. From littlies to senior men, parents and grandparents, adult dancers, performers, the teachers, adjudicators and the multi-generation teachers, we promise to promote and celebrate all that we love as Diaspora here in North America. We recognize the responsibility that comes with publishing a family magazine, and will conscientously promote positive mind, body, and spirit. And yes, we intend to pay careful attention to the use of language, correct writing practices and responsible advertisers.
Phew! Not your typical 'post', but I wanted to try to address all the questions and comments in one shot. Please share this especially with your dance teachers who can earn 20% commission on subscription sales at their schools.
I invite you to email me personally with suggestions, constructive criticism, ditorial ideas, photos for publication, events to publicize, inspirational stories, etc. Kathleen@FeisAmerica.com.
Best wishes and thank you for your support. We are delighted to give North American ID fans their very own magazine!

Help save the Hill of Tara from development! -- Concerned Irish Dancer, 03:51:09 07/28/07 Sat [1]
Please sign the online petition to save grounds of Tara! Visit: http://www.petitiononline.com/Temair/petition.html . People from any country can sign!
Here's what the petition says:
"To: An Taoiseach, The Irish Prime Minister
I wish to protest the planned M3 motorway through the ancient grounds of Tara. As you are aware, expert archaeologists in Ireland and internationally have pointed out that Tara is not just constituted by the actual hill, but also by the surrounding landscape, which is extraordinarily rich in archaeological monuments. This is precisely the area the planned M3 will cut through, only 1 km from the hill itself.
You are also no doubt aware that the Tara landscape is recognised as a site of not only Irish, but world importance. In particular, it holds a significant place in European cultural heritage. I therefore believe that the Irish Government has a duty to act as the respectful custodian of Tara, and all other ancient Irish archaeological sites, and to protect them for posterity and for the appreciation of present and future citizens of not just Ireland, but of all the world.
I ask you to personally intervene in this issue, and to see to it that one of the alternative routes available for the M3 motorway is chosen instead. I ask you to ensure that Tara remains completely undisturbed and that it is treated with the respect due to both a national and international cultural treasure, "
Thank you for your help!

- Turn $6 into $60,000 in 90 days, GUARANTEED -- RT, 07:59:47 02/26/06 Sun [1]
Turn $6 into $60,000 in 90 days, GUARANTEED
Postal lottery: Turn $6 into $60,000 in 90 days, GUARANTEED
I found this in a news group and decided to try it. A little while
back, I was browsing through news groups, just like you are now and
came across a message just like this, that said you could make
thousands of dollars within weeks with only an initial investment of
$6.00!!!
So I thought yeah right, this must be a scam!!! But like most of us, I
was curious, so I kept reading. Anyway, it said that you send $1.00 to
each of the 6 names and addresses stated in the message. You then
place your own name and address at the bottom of the list at #6 and
post the message in at least 200 news groups. (There are thousands).
No catch, that was it.
So after thinking it over, and talking to a few people first. I
thought about trying it. I figured, what have I got to lose except 6
stamps and $6.00, right? So I invested the measly $6.00!!! Guess what?
Within 7 days I started getting money in the mail!!! I was shocked!!!
I figured it would end soon, but the money just kept coming in!!! In
my first week, I had made about $25.00. By the end of the second week,
I had made a total of over $1,000.00!!! In the third week, I had over
$10,000.00 and it is still growing!!! This is now my fourth week and I
have made a total of just over $42,000.00 and it is still coming in
rapidly!!! It's certainly worth $6.00 and 6 stamps!!! I have spent
more than that on the Lottery!!!
Let me tell you how this works and most importantly, why it works!!!
Also, make sure you print a copy of this message now. So you can get
the information off ofit as you need it. I promise you that if you
follow the directions exactly, that you will start making more money
than you thought possible by doing something so easy!!!
Suggestion: Read this entire message carefully!!! (Print it out or
download it.) Follow the simple directions and watch the money come
in!!! It's easy!!! It's legal!!! Your investment is only $6.00 (plus
postage).
IMPORTANT: This is not a rip-off!!! It is not illegal!!! ? It is
almost entirely risk free and it really works!!! If all of the
following instructions are adhered to, you will receive
extraordinary dividends!!!
Please note: Follow these directions EXACTLY, and $60,000.00 or more
can be yours in 20 to 90 days!!! This program remains successful
because of the honesty and the integrity of the participants!!! Please
continue its success by carefully adhering to the instructions.
You will now become part of the mail order business. In this business
your product is not solid or tangible, it is a service. You are in the
business of developing mailing lists. Many large corporations are
happy to pay big bucks for quality lists. However, the money made from
a mailing list is secondary to the income which is made from people
like you and me asking to be included on your mailing list!!!
Here are the 4 easy steps to success:
Step 1: Get 6 separate pieces of paper and write the following on each
piece of paper.
PLEASE PUT ME ON YOUR MAILING LIST
Now get 6 U.S. dollar bills and place ONE inside each of the 6 pieces
of paper so the bills will not be seen through the envelopes (to
prevent mail theft). Next, place one paper in each of the 6 envelopes
and seal them, you should now have 6 sealed envelopes. Each with a
piece of paper stating the above phrase, your name and address, and a
$1.00 bill. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY LEGAL!!! YOU ARE REQUESTING A
LEGITIMATE SERVICE AND YOU ARE PAYING FOR IT!!!
Like most of us, I was a little skeptical and a little worried about
the legal aspect of it all. So I checked it out with the U.S. Postal
Service and they confirmed that it is indeed legal!!!
Mail the 6 envelopes to the following addresses:
R. Somerville
2507-A Cypress Ln
Cedar Park, Tx 78613
USA
S.C.B.
28 Dalrymple Green N.W.
Calgary, A.B. T3A-1Y2
Canada
J. Soup
#1, 2028 Kensington Rd. NW
Calgary, AB Canada
T2N 3R6
Andy Vaughan
511 E Rensselaer St
Bucyrus, OH 44820
USA
S. Secure
Box 3383
Courtenay, BC
V9N 5N5
Rick Lee
1515 Cannon Pkwy. Apt 417
Roanoke Tx. 76262
Step 2: Now take the #1 name off the list that you see above, move the
other names up (6 becomes 5, 5 becomes 4, etc.) and add your name as
number 6 on the list.
Step 3: Change anything you need to, but try to keep this message as
close to what you see as possible. Now, post your amended message to
at least 200 news groups. I think there are close to 24,000 groups!!!
All you need is 200, but remember, the more you post, the more money
you make!!! This is perfectly legal!! If you have any doubts, refer to
Title18 sec. 1302 & 1341 of the postal lottery laws. Keep a copy of
these steps for yourself and whenever you need money, you can use it
again.
Please remember that this program remains successful because of the
honesty and the integrity of the participants and by their carefully
adhering to the directions!!!
Look at it this way. If you are of integrity, the program will
continue and the money that so many others have received will come
your way!!!
Note: You may want to retain every name and address sent to you,
either on your computer or hard copy and keep the notes people send
you. This verifies that you are truly providing a service. Also, it
might be a good Idea to wrap the $1 bills in dark paper to reduce the
risk of mail theft.
So, as each post is downloaded and the directions carefully followed,
six members will be reimbursed for their participation as a list
developer with one dollar each. Your name will move up the list
geometrically so that when your name reaches the #1 position, you will
be receiving thousands of dollars in cash!!! What an opportunity for
only $6.00!!! ($1.00 for each of the first six people listed above).
Send it now, add your own name to the list and your in business!!!
DIRECTIONS FOR HOW TO POST TO A NEWS GROUP!!!
Step 1: You do not need to re-type this entire message to do your own
posting. Simply put your cursor at the beginning of this message and
drag your cursor to the bottom of this message and select copy from
the edit menu. This will copy the entire message into the computer
memory.
Step 2: Open a blank note pad file and place your cursor at the top of
the blank page. From the edit menu select paste. This will paste a
copy of the message into notepad so that you can add your name to the
list.
Step 3: Save your new notepad file as a txt file. If you want to do
your posting in a different setting, you'll always have this file to
go back to.
Step 4: Use Netscape or Internet Explorer and try searching for
various news groups (on-line forums, message boards, chat sites,
discussions, etc.)
Step 5: Visit these message boards and post this message as a new
message by highlighting the text of this message from your notepad and
selecting paste from the edit menu. Fill in the subject, this will be
the header that everybody sees as they scroll through the list of
postings in a particular group. Click the post message button. You've
done your first one! Congratulations!!! All You have to do is jump to
different news groups and post away, after you get the hang of it, it
will take about 30 seconds for each news group!
REMEMBER, THE MORE NEWS GROUPS YOU POST IN, THE MORE MONEY YOU WILL
MAKE!!!!
(But you have to post a minimum of 200).
That's it!!! You will begin receiving money from around the world within
days!!! You may eventually want to rent a P.O. Box due to the large
amount of mail you will receive. If you wish to stay anonymous, you can
invent a name to use, as long as the postman will deliver it.
JUST MAKE SURE ALL THE ADDRESSES ARE CORRECT!!!

**AS SEEN ON OPRAH**

***THIS IS IT***ALMOST FREE MONEY AS SEEN ON OPRAH***
Can you really make money so easily? I thought it was impossible. Just read this. I don’t even have to convince you that
this is not a scam…because it makes logical sense how you can earn money through paypal.
A little while back, I was browsing through a newsgroup, just like
you are now and came across an article similar to this that said you
could make thousands dollars within weeks with only an initial
investment of $6.00! So I thought, "Yeah, right, this must be a
scam", but like most of us, I was curious, so I kept reading. :
OPRAH WINFREY and an article published in the Wall Street Journal on 6/16/2001. here is some of it!!
Everyone has heard about "PayPal" (if you haven't you will soon) and, when I came
across this concept I knew it would work because, as a member of PayPal, I had already
experienced their efficiency and excellent standing. PayPal is the simplest method
of making and receiving payments online anyone has ever seen! Anyone with an
email address can join, for FREE! Please read further before you go there...
You can complete this whole process in less than one hour and you will never
forget the day you decided to do so!!! Oh!, Did I say FAST? By fast I mean '
the speed of the Internet-type fast.' Everything is done on the Internet by E-mail.
And, if you abide by the rules, it is NOT considered SPAM, so it's perfectly legal!
Anyway, it said that you send $1.00 though paypal to each of the
emails stated in the article. You then place your own email address
in the bottom of the list at #6, and post the article in at least 200
newsgroup. (There are thousands) No catch, that was it. So after
thinking it over, and talking to few people first, I thought about
trying it. I figured what have I got to lose except $6.00, right?
Like most of us I was a little skeptical and a little worried about
the legal aspects of it : It follows the same regulations as the
mailed chain letters, which according to the U.S. Post Office (1-800-
725-2161) is indeed legal! Then I invested the measly $6.00. Well
GUESS WHAT!!?. Within 7 days, I started getting money in my PayPal
account! I was shocked! I figured it would end soon, but the money
just kept coming in. In my first week, I made about $20.00. By the
end second week I had made a total over $1,200.00! In the third week
I had over $10,000.00 and it's still growing. This is now my fourth
week and I have made a total of just over $36,000.00 and it's still
coming in rapidly. Its : Certainly worth $6.00., I have spent more
than that on the lottery!! : Let me tell you how this works and most
importantly, why it works? Also, make sure you print a copy of this
article NOW, so you can get the information off of it as you need it.
REQUIREMENTS: You must have a verified PayPal account. If you do not
have an account you can go to www.paypal.com and follow the
instructions to set up a free account. In order to place the initial
$6 into your account, you will have to verify your bank account with
PayPal (which may take a few days). Paypal is 100% secure and is used
my millions of people world wide.
STEP 1: Send, though PayPal, $1.00 to each email on the below list (if you dont, you won't be on 6 lists and WON'T MAKE
ANY MONEY! Trust me on this!!).
Make the subject of the payment "Email List" and in the comments,
write "PLEASE PUT ME ON YOUR EMAIL LIST." What you are doing is
creating a service by this and best of all you are not giving your
address to anyone you do not know.. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY LEGAL!
The email list:
#1) alextheauthor@gmail.com
#2) melperrier@yahoo.ca
#3) mike@metroboogie.com
#4) windsting@hotmail.com
#5) amecoltd@aol.com
#6) nealleisha@charter.net
STEP 2: Now take the #1 email off the list that you see above, move
the other addresses up (6 becomes 5, 5 becomes 4, etc?.) and add YOUR
email address (the one used on the paypal account) as number 6 on the
list.
STEP 3: Change anything you need to, but try to keep this article as
close to original as possible. Now, post your amended article to at
least 200 newsgroups, message board. (I think there are close to
32,000 groups) All you need is 200, but remember, the more you post,
the more money you make - as well as everyone else on the list!
---- DIRECTIONS----HOW TO POST TO NEWSGROUPS, MESSAGE BOARD----------
Step 1) You do not need to re-type this entire letter to do your own
posting. Simply put your cursor at the beginning of this letter and
drag your : Cursor to the bottom of this document, and select 'copy'
from the edit menu. This will copy the entire letter into the
computer memory. Step 2) Open a blank 'notepad' file and place your
cursor at the top of the blank page. From the 'edit' menu
select 'paste'. This will paste a copy of the letter into notepad so
that you can add your name to the list. Step 3) save your new notepad
file as a .txt file. If you waant to do your postings in different
sittings, you'll always have this file to go back to. : Step 4) Use
Netscape or Internet explorer and try searching for various
newsgroups (on-line forums, message boards, chat sites, discussions.)
Just example you log on any search engine like
yahoo.com,google.com,altavista.com,excite.com then you search with
this subject ?millionaire message board? or ?money making message
board? or ?employment message board? or ?money making discussions?
or ?money making forum? or ?business message board? etc. You will
find thousand & thousand message board. Click one by one then you
will find the option post a new message. : Step 5) Visit these
message boards and post this article as a new message by highlighting
the text of this letter and selecting paste from the edit menu. Fill
in the Subject, this will be the header that everyone sees as they
scroll through the list of postings in a particular group, click the

- Belfast was fine but I for one cannot afford it again and would have to skip this one. (NT) -- skint_mom, 14:29:49 04/16/04 Fri
- we won't go back to Belfast. it was WAY to costly. Money is an issue, cheap flights/travel in Republic, I'll go there. (NT) -- not Belfast, 19:01:30 04/16/04 Fri
- I guess the time between the AI and the World next year is so close I'll stay with the World only especially if it is in Killarney. Love that place, venue is great, lots of accomodation and great chance for us to holiday after. (NT) -- my vote is NO to BELFAST, 14:36:32 04/17/04 Sat
- The people making the decision are the ones who will NOT feel the pinch. They probably are gettting hugh sponsorship. On top of that they got 8 POUNDS admission, 4 POUNDS for each result printout and 10 POUNDS for the Drama Drama. Why would they want to go anywhere else? They do not care much about the Dancers, Parents and Teachers. (NT) -- money is the decision maker, 18:37:08 04/17/04 Sat
- Any Northern Ireland venue has to be more expensive for dancers and their families compared to the South. The Eurozone get better value, The Dollarzone get better value and the Sterlingzone get better value. I agree with the poster above that it is the money being made by the Irish Dancing governing body that is swaying the decision. And where does all that money go anyway?? (NT) -- Please ask your reps to make dancer sensitive decisions., 18:06:36 04/18/04 Sun
- Belfast suits us in Scotland. Travel expense not too expensive. Accomodation a little high but so are most places. No change in money. Food at Waterfront good value for money. Looking forward to All Ireland in Belfast as can cut down on number of days off work and school as less time travelling. (NT) -- Dancers mother., 13:13:32 04/19/04 Mon

Some Irish Feises -- feis dancer, 00:34:57 03/18/04 Thu [1]
The South Eastern Championships were held in Waterford last week. Heard that was a nice feis. Judges were Bernadette Trainor-Aitken (London), Peter Boylan (Drigheda) and Maitiu Mac Eoin (Tipperary).
There was also feises in Sligo (Feis Ceol) and Mullingar.
Next weekend is Michael Dillon's feis in Ennis. The judges are Rosetta McConomy (Derry), Kathleen McGinty (New York), and Kevin McCormack (Dublin ... or is it London!!).
Should be good.
The Teachers Feis is also on in Ulster next week-end.

- Most of our dancers bought their own squares from Jubilee Dance Floors, and we use them all the time. We used them today for a show at a school that would have been danced on concrete, and they worked well. Caveat: they did separate, and we needed to scoot them back together again after each dance. Not a big problem. Also, they do break, but are repairable using PVC joint compound. (NT) -- me, 08:35:01 03/18/04 Thu
- HEY! IDEA!!! I bought a scrap piece of plywood, 4X4, for $0.52 @ Home Depot and traveled around with it on St. Pat's, worked perfectly for one dancer at a time in our travellin show...disposable too! (NT) -- lol :o), 05:46:50 04/03/04 Sat
