The forum does slow down at various times. I was forced to change to this new forum by some "bad hits" that the old forum took late last fall. I didn't have the ability as the administrator to completely fix the problems. Several emails to the forum server administrator (amazingforums.com) either went unanswered or remedies were useless. That's why this New Forum is in place, with a lot more options.

Another thing: The forum area only receives roughly 10% of the hit count that this site receives in general. There are counters on both the Forum Area and for Pullsite in general. As far as the forum, a very tiny portion of those hits actually post - most come just to read - I can tell that by various means. With close to 1/2 million hits on Pullsite.com in general, I dont' worry too much...
