Subject: The night of Dvorak Author: Kaori [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] Date Posted: 11/11/04 7:49 I went to Sendai Philharmonic Orchestra's concert with my mom yesterday. They opened with Don Jovanni K.527.(Mozart) and moved to Dvorak. They brought cello solist Ms.Kudo. The tiny young lady played so strong and wild! After 3 mevements of the cello concerto(B minor #104), they played Dvorak's "England"(The 8th symphony, G major #88). The flute and oboe were fantastic! Because I play the piano, most my CDs are piano music such as Chopin. Now I became a fan of symphony, I'm going to listen more symphonies! [> Subject: Kaori! That sounds wonderful! Symphonies on cd are great, but in person, they are beyond incredible. Good for the Timpani, hahaha! Those are fun to play, too. I want you to know I have introduced my babies to Tchaikovsky, Andre Segovia, and Irish music. Chopin and Satie will follow ;-) They can only listen to the Sesame Street songs just so often!!
