Anger ill suits, young grasshopper. And it will preclude you from the important self-examination ahead.

You fail to understand, young grasshopper, that not all campaigns begin from a common start line. Indeed, most campaigns begin with one party or the other holding an advantage. And the older a government is, the less likely it is to hold the advantage.

This last campaign began with your party holding the advantage. We were old and tired. You were fresh and new and six points ahead in every pre-election poll I saw.

Our campaign got us from six pionts behind in the popular vote to six points ahead. I'd call that success.

As the campaign began, New democrats were seriously contemplating the likelihood of 24 or fewer seats. Our campaign got us from there to 30 seats. I'd call that success.

Of course, not everything went smoothly. A few people in the backrooms showed incredibly bad judgement with that offensive cartoon. But our response when it broke made the story go away (mostly) within two days. And when your party tried to revive it again, abandoning the high road you took for the first two days and demanding that everyone who was sent the email should be fired, it backfired on you.

Reg Downs ran you a clumsy campaign that allowed the SaskParty to become the issue. That is a failure, however you cut it.

We did not win this election, young grasshopper. Our campaign was not good enough to win us this election.

Your party lost this election -- an election you had "in the bag" three months ago, young grasshopper.

But if you eschew the path of self-examination, young grasshopper, that merely serves my party's interests. Perhaps you will run as clumsy a campaign again next time.
