Subject: OK, so what's the topic? Or the tapioca?

Let's see...I just heard that CBS is in hot water over some of the scenes in their miniseries "The Reagans" in which Ronald says that people with AIDS get what they deserve. Bill O'Reilly writes, "You can't put words in a former president's mouth that portray him as a hater. That is defamation." (Story here)

Come on, O'Reilly. Every day of Clinton's last term saw conservatives like yourself telling the most slanderous lies about him--that he was a crack addict, that his face was breaking out in gonnhereal sores, that he was a murderer. The conservatives seem to be able to dish out all kinds of punishment, but lay a finger on one of them or their heroes and they cry like little girls.

------

Meanwhile, liberals are downright stuck. They can say "I told you so" about Iraq, but the fact is all of the Democratic legislators except a scant handful voted with the Republicans to let Bush go to war. And now they don't have any better exit plan than Bush does--which is to say, none at all. "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." The catch being, of course, that if they do nothing they are not good men!

Cheers to all--
