Subject: Powerful Republican Leadership Rules Filibuster Must Go!!



The powerful Republican Leadership (the most powerful lobby in the past 60 years) has concluded that the Filibuster is not essential at this time.
Republican leaders in the Senate have decided after careful evaluation and at the urging of President Bush, that
the filibuster rules should be changed in order to get a vote on the floor of the Senate for the President's Nominees.
The Democrats when they were in the majority were upset that the Republicans wanted to use the filibuster, but, did not threaten to destroy this procedure. The Republicans did not allow the Democrats to stop the filibuster when the Demos were in the majority.
Now, the neo irresponsible Republican Leadership wants the filibuster to be removed in nomination cases. They are saying they cant get the urgent business of cutting taxes for the robber barons and big corps. They want all the time to be used to cut Medicare, Medicaid, wreck Social Security, and cut the Hell out of Welfare and job programs. They dont want to get off schedule. They want their agenda to be pressed; a very negative agenda.
The Republican Leadership plans to cut off communities of grants for water and sewer and transportation. They want big industry to use roads and the people pay the bulk of the taxes. They want to keep us in a never ending and bottomless hole called war.
This is why they are pressing the issue on the Democrats and the American People. Read the Republican Bills on "Thomas" online. You will see what I am talking about.
