I have faced death

I have have cheated death

but I have not had the sort of near death experience you are talking about.

But I have chanted, grokked, screamed, meditated, etc etc etc

I can appreciate the higher ideals behind beliefs

But my interest here is not one of sorting throught the world's religion looking for what appeals to me

Belief is not a self serve cafeteria

I though we were discussing your contention that RC symbolism is/was strongly influenced by that of the AE's

The Romans..embraced Foreign Divinities, or at the very least tolerated theml, at the same rate at which they absorbe4d the nations/cultures that were their birthplace.

While I agree that one can be inspired by demonstrative demonstrations of faith.

NO such demonstrations are proof of the verity of said beliefs

Such demonstrations are a testament to man's adaptability more than they are a testament to God's
