I believe that RB was the first to point out the relationship between the layout of the Giza pyramids and the belt stars of Orion. I also believe that this is a first in archaeoastronomy -- someone suggesting that structures were laid out to resemble a constellation.

True, others such Sir J. Norman Lockyer, KCB, FRS, have pointed out that Egyptian and Greek temples were aligned to the stars. Sir Norman also suggested that the Sphinx was an amalgam of constellations and something to do with precession.

The 10,500 BC date as being signficant to the AE was first postulated by Gerald Massey back in the 19th century. AFIK, RB makes no mention of Massey in the OCT.

Badawy and others have pointed out a link between the shafts and various stars.
