Carnavon didn't live long enough to gain much Kudos.

Carter was a pretty moody individual,didn't really have any friends apart from the Earl. I'm wondering if it was partly due to the fact that Carter helped himself to quite a few items from the tomb, in anycase, he never got any kudos here for his work, he died a broken man.
