Subject: the wrong question

the following is intended as free associative spur for some practical exchange of ideas, notions etc etc...


How many times have we heard it??

"Why did they build the pyramids"

You don't have to frequent messageboards for any great length of time to hear people claiming to have Solved the Mystery of the Pyramids.

Having had the advantage of a classical education, broad life experiences, and being well traveled..not to mention access to a phenomenal volume of reference..

..everything I have learned about the relationship between the AE Kings, the people, the ruling class, the religion, and most importantly the infrastructure..leaves me thinking that the only mystery is..

Why anybody who has bothered to research the pre and early dynastic thinks there is one( a mystery) in the first place.

rereading Contact a few weeks back, I couldn't help but see the parallels between the Mechanisms of support for the Divine AE King and those same mechanisms that the Third Reich employed oh so efficiently. Only people on other planets and a few dozen on earth actually saw the colour TV broadcast of the Opening ceremonies for the '36 Berlin Olympics yet the demonstration of Power that that broadcast represented was telling indeed.

Other than those who built them..how many every day AE's saw the pyramids up close..yet alone were aware of their make up and complexity??

Yet,,the lesson/demonstration wasn't lost on them either.
