How wonderful that you are spending a year in China! What an extraordinary experience you must be having. I haven't had a moment to write about my time there in quite sometime, but I do hope to get down to it before too long, THe problem is that I'm finishing up a book, a memoir about becoming a mother and going to China the first time nine years ago, so I'm pretty occupied with that, when I get a spare minute, that is! I understand how you could miss American food, that's the comfort commodity when you're feeling homesick. I know it always has been for me. I was feeling a little homesick in Shanghai this last time, so I went and bought a beautiful individual quiche at the Hotel Sofitel on Nan-Ging Road, and wouldn't you know, it gave me Montazuma's Revenge!! I was fighting for a recovery for about a week! Keep on having fun over there, even if you get a little homesick. A year flies by so quickly, you'll be home before you know it and then you'll be missing China!! But when you do get back state-side, at least you can take up with watching AMC again. We'll look forward to having you back!! Best to you, Jill [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
