Neat take on Cordelia’s motivation (what do you make of Kara in this scene?). I’d never thought of Cordelia as trying to trick Tori into a confession, although that fits in perfectly with the usual interpretation of the movie. I’d always took Cordelia and Kara as genuinely sympathetic.
Here is something that puzzles me about this scene. After she sits down, Tori immediately says,

“Look, first of all, whatever they’re saying is trash talk, stupid. I know you guys won’t listen to it.”

I assume “they” here refers to Allison and her friends (Cordelia immediately glance towards Allison’s table). So, Tori isn’t using the “Paulie-crawled-into-my-bed-naked-and-I-didn’t-even-know-she-was-there” line with Kara and Cordelia. After handing Allison a box-full of lies about Paulie, she now seems to be telling Kara and Cordelia that Allison is the one making up lies about her (Tori) being a lesbian.
Does anyone have a view on this?
