The closest I can really come to finding a movie similar to Lost and Delirious would be Heavenly Creatures. It's about these two very different girls who meet at an all-girls school and become intense best friends--inseparable. They live in a fantasy world, especially when they are faced with separation. It was made in 1994, starring Kate Winslet and Melanie Lynsky. Based on a true story and directed by Peter Jackson.
