Hey Mel,

nice to hear from you again here! :)

Some things we get to know in the book “the wives of bath”, which are not explained in the movie. Like, why Mouse's father did not appear at the party.

But besides of this the book is very different and Paulie in the book doesn't feel comfortable being a girl and always tries to change into the role of her imaginary brother Lewis. She changes her personality cos of being a girl in love with a girl, which she seems not being able to accept.

I think that Paulie and Tori in the movie have the most kind, sweet and romantic love before they were caught by Allie. In the book there is nothing really described as sweet or romantic. Each of the girls seems not to be satisfied with her physical appearance, except of Tori maybe…

the book in general includes maybe a bit too much violence in my eyes. other than the book, the movie always shows a way we should act. it's not so much only a movie, it's something you can believe in. it includes all values how life should be.

just my few words on the book.

take care :)

Stef
