Kentucky Fried Chicken Settles Over Claims its Chicken is Low-Carb



KFC Corp., agreed to settle charges that it falsely claimed that its Kentucky Fried Chicken was part of a low-carbohydrate weight-loss diet, the U.S. Federal Trade Commission said Thursday, June 3, 2004.
KFC, a unit of Yum! Brands Inc., also agreed not to claim that eating two fried-chicken breasts is healthier than eating a Burger King Whopper hamburger, the FTC said. (who cares? - Art)
The settlement "signals that the FTC will not tolerate misleading advertisements to consumers who are trying to eat healthier and watch their weight," FTC Chairman Timothy Muris said.
