It seemed safe enough, and it wasn't like there was anywhere else she could go. She'd just gotten kicked out of a bar down the street, and yelled at until she was out of earshot. Stupid humans anyway. Let them have their filthy spirits and short lives. Her dark, blood colored tail flicked angrily behind her. She had trouble convincing the fat man behind the bar that she was old enough to be his mother, and that a person of her age deserved a fine drink. That spiced wine had smelled good, but she hadn't gotten a sip before she was thrown out. She resolved to give the man a piece of her mind the next time she saw him. As for now, she glared at the shadows enveloping her, as if daring some being to try to take the beautiful ruby necklace she wore from her.
