It is a fact that the city is cutting services that we pay dearly for;have you seen any cut in what you are being billed for? I know they are being lenient in the payment schedule but we are still expected to pay what is billed.

Recycling & Garbage Collection
Our sanitation workers continue to provide refuse disposal services to our community. They are working harder and longer with increased caution given these unprecedented times. Please continue proper practices that facilitate the safe collection of garbage and recycling. Following appropriate protocols will help our team keep the City of Newburgh clean and safe.

Garbage & Recyclables
The sanitation team continues to collect garbage and recyclables on a normal schedule. However, all materials put out for pickup will be combined temporarily with general refuse. The current changes are a result of a series of adjustments ranging from altered business hours at transfer stations to increased social distancing among employees. The City of Newburgh will resume regular recycling operations as soon as possible. Your patience and understanding are greatly appreciated.

Bag all refuse and secure it tightly. Do not leave bags on the ground next to cans. Keep can lids attached to reduce access by animals. If needed, rinse containers and allow them to dry.

Residents are asked to report incidents of illegal dumping to the office of Code Compliance at 845-569-7400.

Bulk Items & Yard Waste
Pick up of yard waste and bulk items is suspended until further notice. Please do not put bulk items and yard waste on the curb as they will not be collected at this time. Building materials including lumber, brick, glass, cement block, construction debris, and roofing material are not collected by our sanitation workers.
