My comment was a reply to 'So Lucky' relative to the "current" impact the virus is having on the housing market. Specifically, the prohibition against evictions for lack of rent payments in New York State that was extended to August 20. Landlords and property owners in general are still required to pay the carrying costs associated with a property...i.e.taxes & maintenance. Imo, residential (to include commercial when the business is rentals) property taxes should be proportionate to level of occupancy. In general, zoning and classification do not default to "fairness" by proxy. I agree with your holistic assessment regarding the depression.
