Get students back in school to do what?

This is not Europe where the infection rate is down for weeks, way down and where many more co-operate and follow rules. That is not true here. NY is down now while schools are closed and many events are shut down. Schools are big gathering places with children and staff from not so healthy home environments. Families have members coming and going from many states and areas with higher rates. Newburgh had one of the highest infection rates in this area.

Will students be forced back. If they don't attend what then? Who is going to force them back? Who is going to check their health? Who is going to keep them clean and disinfected?

Where is the time for school when you have to worry about washing every hour, cleaning s]down desks every hour, checking temperatures, waiting for buses to arrive over one hour's time, and then packing them up to wait another hour to go home.

Who is going to hand out face masks, replacing worn and lost ones, keep student from taking off, staying 6 feet apart in the halls, lunch rooms, bathrooms and getting on and off the bus. walking to school six feet apart????? will some demand gloves, face shields, plastic partitions and sanitizer at their desks?

Teachers and administrators are really winging all of this. There is no way going back is going to be school. Staff and students will be calling in sick regularly and often. Once someone becomes sick does the school go into quarantine, how about the whole family, what about the families that push sick kids into school and insist they stay there? Who will do the tracing and enforcing?

Kids are being forced back to school for the babysitting!
