I'll add...the "fee" that is charged for processing these transactions via "card". It's not just the City, NYS just passed the Driver’s License Suspension Reform Act, aka "Free Ride Bill"...
"The new law would end license suspensions due to traffic debt, while making affordable payment plans available (at 2% of a person’s monthly income or $10/month, whichever is greater). The reform would also reinstate the licenses of people who currently have a suspended license due to traffic debt."

Aside from this bill running counter productive to any "parking meter" iniative as a municipal revenue source (can we get our "study" $s back?), imo, expect auto insurance premiums to reflect the associated increased risks with this bill (in the least an added NYS related fee) and the potential for accident related physical damage. Yes, the hits keep coming to the "credible" taxpayers. As "bad" behavior is incentivized, the moral hazards are mounting via these "ProgressivesTB" initiatives wherein demographics are cherry picked for an excuse and accountability is an oppression bordering on a "hate" crime". We've become our own worst enemy by proxies.
