I think The Meter was actually made a bit too short.

Yes .. seriously.

I think when The Meter was first made ..
(I mean its original length) ..
they made it a bit too short.

How much too short .. ?
(3.28280635 - 3.281) = 0.00180635 FEET ..
or about 0.0216762 regular Inches too short.
This is about 1/3rd of one-sixteenth of a
regular Inch too short.

After all, they didn't have computers back then,
when The Meter was invented.
They didn't have high-altitude aerial-view
photography nor satellite-accurate mapping, either.
I just think they made a very reasonable mistake
in making The Meter about 1/3rd of a sixteenth of an inch
too short.

If I'm correct concerning The Royal Cubit as being very
resonant numerically with [360 / (2Pi)]
in terms of number-of-FEET ..
= 0.03 * [360 / (2Pi)] ..
then it's likely that The Meter was also destined
to be numerically resonant with [360 / (2Pi)], as well.
