Subject: Little Red Spider?

Ever since I can remember my mother has used the term "little red spider" to refer to when someone's making mischief or being a troublemaker, but no one else seems to have heard of that expression. My mother is from East Tennessee, and she heard it from her mother. We've asked other people from that area, but they don't know it, and unfortunately my grandmother has passed away so we can't ask her where she got it. I'm hoping you can solve the mystery of where it came from! Thanks.
