Bougainville ex-commander wants border security for Solomons
Bougainvilleans who carry out adverse activities within Solomon Islands have been warned they will be punished.

The warning has been issued in a statement by retired Bougainville Revolutionary Army Commander, General Sam Kauona Sirivi.

He says such people are motivated by self-interest and will destroy the relationship with neighbouring Solomon Islands.

A copy of the statement has been sent to the Solomon Islands Foreign Affairs Minister, the Regional Assistance Mission in Solomon Islands Coordinator and the Solomon Islands Police Commissioner.

It says if there are any ex-combatants in Solomon Islands, they must return to Bougainville without delay.

The retired BRA General stressed that carrying weapons across the border was forbidden and jeopardises the cross border relationship between Bougainville and Solomon Islands.
