National Maori Journalists Organisation AGM, March 19-21, 2004 - Tunohopu Marae, Rotorua

Those that steer the canoe which conveys the spoken word, those that carve and shape the written word
– Welcome to the annual general meeting of Kawea Te Rongo.

This is your invitation to attend the 2004 annual gathering of Kawea Te Rongo, the National Maori Journalists Organisation.
It’s open to all Maori journalists, other Maori working in various fields associated with the production of news and current affairs across all mediums, Maori public relations and communications practitioners, as well Maori journalism students, their tutors and interested parties whose work involves Maori issues or Maori media and communications.

The hui will take place from Friday, March 19 through to Sunday, March 21. Registration fees payable at the hui are $50pp (all journalism students $20 each). The last day will be given over to a memorial service and unveiling for former NZ Herald reporter, Richard Knight who passed away in 2003. In recognition of Richard, the hui will be held at his marae of Tunohopu (near St Faith’s Church), at Ohinemutu, in Rotorua. Attached is the programme for hui. Accommodation is available at Tunohopu for the duration of the hui.
