:whew: Well.... here's my 2cents on the subject as I was thinking a lot about it after this past raid.

First off, let me say that I love a DKP system vs. any other. No matter what type of DKP system you use, there will be some definite growing pains as it is started. That cannot be avoided and should be understood. Everyone having the same number of points in the beginning does seem a bit strange and kinda throws a wrench into things, but it has to start somewhere right?

I feel there are some important KEY things that need to happen in order to have a successful DKP system in place.

1. UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE - (please do not take this personally aalotta) There needs to be somewhere made available for all the status of their points/spent/earned/mob killed/loot dropped/ etc. and updated within 24 hours of said raid.

2. DATABASE - Their needs to be a database created of all creatures that are on our target list complete with items they drop and an associated DKP value. This way players know ahead of time the appropriate DKP value of items they are interested in and can plan accordingly. Also neeeding to be kept updated as our mob hit list grows.

3. 1+2 boil down to COMMUNICATION - Raid participants need to be kept informed at all times or this will lead to confusion.

As an example, I invite everyone to take a look at Null's DKP system. Their website is xevnull.com I like the fact that the loot distribution is not bidded, but purchased. An item's value should stay static. They assign tiers to people, and then determine from among those who want to purchase the item, who is allowed to purchase.

It is everyone's responsibility to make a raid go smoothly, not just the raidleader. If you know we're going after mob a, b, and c.. then look up these mobs, see what they drop and cross-reference to the DKP value list, so you can plan accordingly and not take up the raid's time.

Like I said, this is just my opinion and i will not leave raidclub if others don't agree.
