Subject: I shouldn't be a pet owner

Is it possible to break a cats tail? If so, I think I just broke Cleo's. The girls and I had just come back from touring The Weinermobile (way cool, btw) and as I'm shutting the door to the car, Cleo was standing there. I accidentally shut her tail in the door. She was squealing, I was frantically looking in my purse for the keys to unlock the door, kids are screaming, other cats are gathering around. I got her unshut and she took off, but has a bent tail now. *sigh*
I've come to the conclusion that it's just plain dangerous for me to have animals around. If I'm not losing a dog, I'm setting a cat on fire or shutting another ones tail in the car door.
And the worst part is, I have KIDS! They're doomed, Doomed, DOOMED!

Sorry to hear that. Poor kitty. There are bones in a cats tail. You should take her to the vet a.s.a.p. Hope she is ok.

You mean they'll have to put a cast on her tail? Chit! Thanks, Dave. I didn't know that.

I called my vet and he told me that as long as she's moving her tail all the way to the tip, that she's likely alright. I coaxed her into the garage using albacore and checked her out. She is indeed moving it, but he suggested that I keep an eye on her for the next few days just in case. Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge. I had no idea that it was as potentially serious as it could have been. :-)

Yikes! That sounds painful, but I'm sure she's ok... at least the vet said so, right? ;)

I am in Ohio staying with my mom, sister and nephew. They just had her cat spayed... Thank goodness!

This cat kept me up all night trying to make it with my toes every time they slipped out of the covers.
