The Steve Irwin thing just flippin' kills me! OK, so we've got a youngun' who was raised in a zoo, his father was a handler of wild animals. Obviously, this cat daddy knows from wild! I've watched this show religiously, and know that he's one fraidy cat, chicken-chit, Down Under-er. Don't misunderstand, he is also one brave SOB to do the things that he does. And he's the first one to admit that's he's a big ole chicken-ass, but that doesn't stop the guy.

The fact that they thought he "jeoparidized" the safety of his child, is for chit. If any father loves his children, that man does. Just my take on a situation.

There are a few too many people in the world willing to point fingers. I mean, if he does that, and it somehow encourages someone to play with their baby right next to a fifteen foot alligator, and that person or their baby gets hurt or killed, well, um, this probaly sounds a bit callous, but that sounds like a form of natural selection to me...

This guy is pure nuts! He's holding this snake and saying in his Aussie accent "See this! This is the deadliest snake in the world. One bite from this fellow and you're toast. That's not the snake shaking, it's ME." All the while, he's holding this snake about 6 inches from his face. Sheesh, this guy has some serious nads!

So, I read your post and it triggered a memory....

Have you ever seen that hair removal product that was popular on infomercial television a while back? It was called "Nads" and I remember thinking how unfortunate that poor New Zealander who invented it was for not knowing about that little double meaning. I even recorded a little audio clip off of the infomercial... it was this woman very excitedly pronouncing "I Love Nads!" in this chirpy little chipper voice. I sent it to a buddy who does audio remixes and I think it found it's way onto a dance re-mix.

I remember that infomercial! I too, remember thinking WHAT were they thinking? Remind me to tell you the Epilady story sometime. A friend told me this story and I was laughing so hard that I literally dropped the phone on the floor.
Speaking of infomercials, do you remember "Be a hard charger like Paul Krauss." It was an ad for the Apollo Hair System. Or how about Mr. Microphone? "Hey good-looking, we'll be back to pick you up later!" You're prolly too young to remember those, but they were classics.



And excited isn't exactly the word I would use. Try scared half to death! I just right now got off the phone to list myself for the flight. I was on the phone with Monica for about 20 mins (imagine that) and she was telling me horror stories about flight attendants that got axed at the final exam. One did her whole spiel and at the end said "And we'd like to thank you for flying America West." They let her go on the spot even after the 5 weeks of training! I'm going to go to sleep tonight chanting Southwest Airlines, Southwest Airlines.... And thanks for asking. I'm happy to know that you remembered. :-)
