Subject: What type of Christmas tree do you have?

Two of my girlfriends have opted for the "grown-up" decorations this year instead of the "kids" mish-mosh tree. My one friend went out and bought this gorgeous tree that is all decorated in blue, pale blue and white. After she had it up, friends started telling her that traditionally that denotes one of the Jewish faith. She loves her tree so much, she's just going to convert her family of 7 instead of taking it back.
Personally, I'll always have the mish-mosh tree. Bottom heavy with handmade ornaments that the girls have hung. A snowman that my eldest made in kindergarten, complete with one eye and 1/2 a carrot nose. Then there's the ripped paper gingerbread man (?) that my youngest made "special for you, Mama".
Even my Mama's tree at home looks like something that blew up. It still has the same ornaments that all 5 kids have made throughtout the years. It even has one glass ball that belonged to my Mama when she was a baby. It's mostly transparent now, but it's my favorite one of all.

So, what does your tree look like at your house?

Red and White Lights, Lots of snowmen.....(I Love Snowmen!) and snowflakes, and silver garland.

I have some of the things that the kids have made over the years.

I Love the lights, the music, and all the decorations but I hate all the commericalism of the season!

Great question!

Colored lights, wire ribbon as garland, and a mish mosh of balls. I buy an ornament whenever we travel, so we have ones from all different places, including my fave, Ireland. Its fun to take em out of the box every year and remember each trip. I also have antique balls passed down from my dad's family from Germany that are over 100+ years. It might be a mish mosh, but its a special mish mosh!!

Ours is a mishmosh of mostly ornaments the kids have made over the years. And my dad has given each of my kids an ornament with the year on it, every year since they have been born. And Jeff is 20, Brian is 19 and Danielle is 13. YOu do the math lol. My favorites are the ones the kids made when they were younger. Some of them have their pictures on them. They don't like these ornaments and sometimes they end up on the back of the tree, but I always take the time to move them to the front of the tree when they aren't looking!
