If you go to Bing.com and go to maps and put in:

Sheafe Rd and Channingville Rd., wappinger falls ny

this was the back corner of the camp behind where the admin/canteen building was. If you zoom in a little the mansion and the pool are still there. It looks like they were renovating the mansion. If you zoom in at the mansion the old barn and shed are still there, so is the little stream that was near the baseball field. If you follow the road in fron of the mansion, it still looks like the stone columns are there where they had the IBG plaque.

The columns are there, the plaque was there for a while, unsure where it went, or when. The property was sold mid '70's and in 79 I think it was the houses started going up.

The houses were originally 10 I think, now they go to what I bet was the property line on sheafe and channingville.

It has had a few owners, and it is now a B & B or was last timer I drove through development, btw that is a completely new pool you see in aerial pictures, actually 3 have been put in. The original had structure and snakes and environmental damage, then another was put in, but the storms we had and downed trees destroyed that one as well, and the owners are spending bucks doing all sorts of work to it now

I used to live in the development 71-82, and party there in early '70's. I also helped with building a few of the houses, later went on to work for that contractor as well.

I'm up in Hyde Park near Roosevelt estate now.

The houses were built in 4 phases....

So tell meon the other side of the pillars & driveway, there was a red long building, that one owner stored a few cars in, what actually was it, what are the 2 long cement bldgs for? what was that field for as well, was that a horse paddock area??

Where was the ball field you guys refer, up before the steep hill? We used to sleigh ride on that

Please get back tome on this, as I'm researching the history of the property so any info and help is greatly appreciated

Bill
