By the end of 2068 humans will no longer be on top of the foodchain.
The city of Glendale was shook up by a fire breathing creature hoovering over the city. The first sighting of a dragon in the recorded history of earth. This large predator appeared to be nothing more than that, a predator that could eat Los Angeles whole in a matter of days if it wanted to but no one suspected the animal’s ingenius.
The tough scales of the dragon worked as great shield against the weapons of mankind. It did not take long or the dragon thought it was time to claim what was rightfully his. Territory.
Gouvernments decided they had had enough of this creature that was so much more superior to them in strength and size. The decided to use their brains. Modern technology to be exact.
The inevitable happened and mankind started launching H-bombs at the dragons. The good news was that the bombs were effective and killed many dragons. Maybe a bit too effective. The outcome was disasterous.
Instead of saving mankind it had only wasted it and it weren’t the dragons who were to blame for this cut in the foodchain.
From the large population of over 50 dragons 3 had survived the menace called mankind. To the great fortune of mankind the human race was caught by evolution aswell, creating a diversity of humanoids with different strengths and weaknesses. It seemed like the scores were more even now. The City of Angels and it's smaller counterpart Glendale were the last thing standing between dragonkind and their domination of the planet.
