Subject: We need your content+

I am very interested in expanding our media section of 80IsGreat.org. We have tons of space and bandwith.

Soon we can look forward to Bryan Mayberry having a collaborative role in our website. He will be creating web pages with pictorial along with musical (in the form of streaming media) content. I am very willing to work with any other classmate who desires to make such an effort.

That said, I am certainly interested in incorporating other sources of content. You may also need to include a few brief words explaining who or what is going on in the picture. Newspaper articles from the past are also great sources of content. There are a number of ways that you can deliver your content:

1) E-mail me your pictures as attachments, one at a time to ensure that you don’t overload my e-mail account.

2) FTP your digital pictures up to our FTP site. You will have to contact me for the user name and password. With WindowsXP this is a pretty simple process that I can talk you through.

3) If your pictures are not yet digital, you can arrange to come over to my house for a scanning session. We will have fun.

4) Drop your pictures off at a reunion meeting, I will scan them, and then return them at the next meeting.

By the way, Mark Mears’s “Things our kids know nothing about…” post was an excellent idea. I am going to treat the responses as if they were survey questions (like in the past reunions) and create a new section in the survey area.

Enriching our site should be the goal of all our classmates. Now that we are back on-line, let’s keep this on-line community an interesting place for all to visit. Let's hear your ideas as a reply to this post.

Mike, what about having classmates send in pictures of themselves as toddlers and having other classmates try to guess their identities?

We could also send in pictures of ourselves now and see if anyone could guess who we were! LOL.

Sorry, not being negative, just couldn't help it!

The baby pic idea really is a good idea.
