Subject: Smoothies are cool +

My son Spencer begs for these concoctions and although they create sticky messes, smoothies are greatly desired at my house. As one can readily see from the following link, a smoothie’s ingredients can vary widely.

I don’t do real well with recipes; I’m the kind of cook that adds this or that and don’t pay too much attention to exact measurements. Last night I made something like this:

1 - 20 oz can of pineapple – Crushed, diced, or sliced; it won’t matter as this all gets blended.
1- mango – skinned and chopped up. Bananas also work just great.
1/2 cup of shaved coconut
1/2 cup of brown sugar
1 table spoon of vanilla extract
1 table spoon of crushed mint – use fresh when available
5 cups (approximately – I just filled the rest of the blender) of ice.

Blend till, well,… this thing is smooth. Serve cold and enjoy. Clean everything right afterwards, as this might be considered a make-shift glue if left to dry.

I think I will try that. It sounds good.
