Subject: Galaga, Asteriods, Defender, Space Invaders, & PacMan +

It might seem strange to feel nostalgic for those old 25-cent video arcade games. Playing those games was a good way to blow money and waste time. I wish I had half of those quarters back.

Well anyway, there is no need to feel nostalgic anymore. Thanks to modern technology you can play those games again, on your home PC. Other than not having the same controls (well actually) and not having to pay 25 a game, you can play the actual same game as it ran in the old console machines. There is software that emulates the hardware of the old machines, which allows for the same programs to run as they did before. This software emulation even provides the same cheesy noises and poor graphics too!

I am referring to something called MAME. Which is an acronym for Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator. Once you have installed this software, you can download the individual games and then play them. It’s perfectly legal and completely fun, especially for the kids. If you like, you can stop by my house for a demo.

BTW, I turned over (the points counter only had 6 digits) Space Invaders once. I seem to recall that Perry Prather turned over Asteroids.
