Mark, the following story has been bugging me for a few days:

http://www.kotv.com/pages/viewpage.asp?id=46389

You know after working on I-44 in this area for the last TWO OR THREE DECADES, someone now believes that the route it takes through town is “dangerous”? I had heard (Tulsa World – homes have been condemned) that this stretch of I-44 was to be widened all the way to the river. Are they suggesting another route?

Michael

I don't think the link gave me the entire article. I hadn't heard anything about changing the route. From what little I know about that, I think they are just having trouble funding the remaining distance to the river.
This is typical though. Did you know that the Creek Turnpike had been on the books since the fifties? By the time they had finally started construction, they had to buy a bunch of very expensive houses from people because they had let them build along the route.
It would be nice to have all of this done--course then they'll just tear something else up!
