In reply to: Woody 's message, "Does anyone know of a source for Bob Wills recording of "Red Wing"? Already tried Amazon and Walmart. Found many bluegrass bands, not Bob Wills." on 13:18:28 08/15/11 Mon

Well, I have given up. After searching for several days, I believe this recording to lost in antiquity. The information I was able to find is entirely anecdotal. Nothing definitive or authoritative. It seems that Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys made a 78 rpm recording in 1938 or 1939. That was the only recording: no 45 or LP, no cassette or CD. In the past several days I have located many version in varied styles, but I will forever miss the one from my childhood.

Thanks, Wayne. Thanks, Harp.

Woody
