Barry, we really need to clear some things up...

You did not get 'into a war' over it. We noticed information in your +finger/pinfo and we asked you about it. Nothing else. And like I said, if any of the official books were to show a living, breathing dragon, or an official note from he site or Mr. Gurney would prove the existance of living Dragons (And not just in a metaphysical way of describing Dinosaurs), then we would be happy to acccept it.

Remember that you are a player in a world created by other people, and this world was based upon the fantastic writings and artwork of a great author and artist. Think of it as a friend's house. Just because you're invited over to play, that does not give you the right to walk in and kick their dog, or make off with their valuables. You are a guest and expected to abide by the rules, just like this or any other message base has its own rules.

However, until that time, the MUCK's staff strives to remain as canon as we possibly can. We are trying to make a place that follows storylines from many of the books closely, and although injecting the fantasy element is fine on some mucks, the wizstaff voted years ago on the following rule that is mentioned in the MUCK rules and has been since the much was first concieved in 1991:

''No magic! By this I mean no throwing fireballs in people's faces, no unicorns or other fantasy creatures. The act of /believing/ you can be magical is allowed, but let's keep to science as any form of 'magic' goes.''

If you cannot adhere to this simple rule and feel the need to contest it, then perhaps Dinotopia MUCK is not for you.

We are not monsters. We are not trying to destroy creativity. But the simple truth is that what you ask is beyond the scope of the rules and, until we hear otherwise, the realm of Dinotopia. Without proof that living Dragons (not Dinosaurs with metaphysical names) exist in Dinotopia, we cannot accomodate the idea of a dragon, or even part-dragon character. We are sorry, but that's the way it was agreed upon.
