我想講：我們願不願意為了追求卓越的學業成績而犧牲其他事情。

第 1866 期明報周刊，一篇名為《中中與英中會考第二次交鋒，是否犧牲了英文？》
提到慈幼英文學校。

該校被迫轉為中文中學，上學年為中四同學轉回用英語教學，結果會考整體科目及英文科成績皆大倒退。於是校方痛定思痛，過去實施一系列政策，「起死回生」：英文成績合格率升 15%。該校過去實施的主要政策包括：

（一）舉行密集式補習班；周一至周五，每天留校補課一個多小時，周六回校補課 3.5 小時，以熟習以英語應付會考。（校方提供的是全科補習。）
（二）資助學生報讀坊間中文及英文補習班。（這個有趣，有校友自掏腰包捐出數萬元，資助近九十名會考生！）

其他「中中」也各出其謀「谷」英文。要有好成績，一定要谷出來！是，會谷出「高分低能」，但，我會為「低分高能」而可惜，他們在日後的路可能沒大多機會發揮他們的「高能」，我更害怕濟記愈來愈多「低分低能」！

至於資助學生外出補習，好像說「學校唔掂，要搵人家幫手教」，但在資源緊拙下，這個權宜之策，無可厚非。事實上，如果「讀會考班是為了考公開試」的話，如不借「考試專家」之力幫學生一把？
