I never got to see laughing clowns play first time around, living in country n.s.w. made it a bit tricky. I made sure i didn't miss out this time, I have only been waiting 24-25 years for this and it was without any doubt worth the wait. To see Louise Elliot was an absolute joy, Biff Millar was astonishing on the bass and Alister Spence wasgreat on the piano etc. I have seen Ed and Jeffrey play in the intervening years but to see the Clowns live was a revelation. I enjoyed both the Forum and Basement shows for different reasons. I liked the accommpanying slide show/artwork in melbourne and the sound where i was sitting, just to the side of the mixing desk was fantastic. We were obviously seated much closer at the basement and the sound was similarly good and you could see the subtleties of the five of them interacting much easier and this contributed to the enjoyment. Hopefully they may even play again in the future, although I hope i don't have to wait another 25yrs.
cheers frank
