Subject: Rounds 14 - 18 Final UPDATE
In reply to: Maxwell 's message, "Rounds 14 - 18 UPDATED" on 4/07/06 2:58:47pm

Fockers playing Cats 2 weeks in a row, had to change Round 18 again.

Power have difficult draw, sorry.

This is really too hard.
As there are 5 rounds left, it is very difficult.
If there was 4 or 6 rounds it would be much easier.

Anyway, after spending an absolute eternity on this, I have changed the last round only.
Favours sides 12 and 14, and helps sides 7 and 8 a little more too.
Sorry, if people are not happy with the abridged form, but I have tried my best.

I also apologise to RB, who plays both Power and Swans.

If anyone wants to look at it and work out the rest of the draw then go ahead. I wish you luck.

I just spent between 2 and 3 hours.
Lucky I am on holidays and had not planned anything.

This attempt to be fair proved a 100% failure so lets just switch up the R 1-13 order on a yearly basis then play the R 1-5 teams twice & go with the luck of the draw on a year to year basis.

The Cats now have a dream run at 4th under this revision.

In my view the Fockers have earnt 4th spot after the 13th round by defeating all the challengers (except the Blues)& now come the end of the season may lose the double chance due to a late season draw change.(Playing the Brians or Power in R18 is not a small diff!)

Happy to go with this revised draw as i am willing to back my team in on the proviso that events like this cannot be repeated.

You could just have a 13 round season followed by finals. Just because the actual season goes for 22 rounds doesn't mean a game like this has to. I dont think having the grand final in round 22 (which I assume is what happens) is ideal because of inconsistencies in real team selection i.e. AFL clubs out of finals giving more fringers/kids a go.

I'm in another comp which is just 15 rounds followed by finals (16 team comp) which works perfectly. And also Russians comp on Bigfooty is I think 15 rounds (16 team comp) and then has an extended finals series which I think lasts the rest of the season. Might be worth considering.
