In reply to: Maxwell 's message, "And if we were to revert to Rounds 1 - 5.....then" on 14/07/06 10:52:58pm

From next year onwards lets stick to a 3 year cycle using the traditional format & the same draw with differant starting points.

USING THE SAME DRAW over 3 years

Year 1.rounds 1-13 play all teams once.Repeat r1-r5.

Year 2.start at r6 & flow with the traditional format.

Year 3.Start at r11 & flow with the traditional format.

Cannot get more even than that.

As Maxwell said, the draw was up for all to see & nobody said anything although with hindsight it aint the way to go in the future.

p.s..if we were using the traditional draw then last week
Fockers 1503 defeated the Blues 1332 instead of being flogged by the Swans & This week it would be Fockers V Bombers.

When it gets down to it, this is largely about shits and giggles and given that, for him to dedicate the amount of time that he has to the draw is commendable.

Make the finals, miss the finals - really it's all about eventually winning the flag. If your in contention, you'll be there regardless of the draw. If your not good enough, lick you lips because the SUPERDRAFT is a comin'.

For starters this is not an individual dig against you Maxwell, you have been superb as others have said. I would never suggest that you did it to advantage anyone, including yourself.

Because I played the Cats last week, and did so in round one, I was under the impression that this week was the first week of the other system. Because it isn't we must go on.

Yes it was up in March, but the way this comp works is that we have established moterators, in place to yah or nah anything that is implemented, and we failed to give this end fixture the vote that it demanded. This is in no way your fault Maxwell. In the end is was implemented without a vote, most probably because some of us were irregular during the month of March.

So as others have said, we will have to go with this fixture now.

Thanx again Maxwell, please don't see this as a personal dig in any way shape or form.
