Subject: New site....

After much deliberation with our new coach Shabby, we have discussed the possibilities of changing sites. Now I can't make you guys move, but I will let you know that after seeing what is available to us, I now believe that it would be a good idea to move to another forum type.

The site we have does the job, but their are certain things that we can do with the new site discussed, and the one we have now. Sticky's would be handy for such things as email addresses and important info we don't want going into archives. Individual team pages would make trade talk easier, as coaches would chat to the coach on their own page, before announcing things to the whole forum. This would eliminate any extra use of emails, and msn, which I wanted all moderators to get onto, but some couldn't. In saying that, a Moderators page can be made up, only for the moderators to discuss the direction of the league. I will confirm appointments of the moderators gang again, as it didn't really work the way I wanted it to.

So I bet you guys are saying, O.K lets have a look for ourselves, which is what I love about you guys, willing to give things a squiz before giving an informed opinion.

So here it is:

Now it has to be known, this is only a shell, and if approved by the powers that are the moderators, we will work on this board, to make it up to scratch, and then move over without any disruptions to our comp. Now that period of time to get things right is undetermined at this stage.

Please put feed back to the new site in this thread only. Any feedback placed elsewhere will be deleted.

Some other advantages using a new site;

- You have to register to post, so there's no potential issues with authenticity. It looks like theres no problem with this at problem with a reliable group of coaches, but with new coaches coming in often, whats really stopping someone posting under someone elses name? Once you register with the new forum it will automatically sign you in every time you visit, so theres no hassle.

- If you want to talk trades, and want more privacy then posting on your own board or someone elses, you can send PM's (private messages) to each other on the site. Much like email, but much easier as it's all on the one site. You will be alerted whenever you have a new PM.

- If people do desire, you can have a sub-forum within your team page. This sub-forum requires a password to enter, so only you will be able to enter. Or if you so desire, instead of a sub-forum, you can have a direct link going straight to your team page on the website (much like the link to the SL website). Forums needing passwords are also good for private talk from moderators.

- It is easy to see when there is a new post or topic. The blue circle on the far left of the page will flash, indicating there are new posts. Each new topic within each board will be highlighted to indicate which threads have new posts. It's really quite simple.

Time to enter the 21st century people.

Suggest setting up a ladder board on the "Season 2006" forum
&
Free Agents List on the "Drafts" forum.

The freeservers.com site (where the ladder etc are now) is bug ridden with tracking cookies although the powers that be denied this yesterday.
