Quote from press conference at the Ramada in February 2003 " The Department Heads will run their Departments" It sure does not seem that is the case in the WBFD these days. Why is it that the current administration thinks that the WBFD is going to financially cure the city's financial woes? If the taxpayers are first priority in the new administration's minds then why didn't our leader take a paycut or a benefit cut? Why was the internal audit cancelled? Who has what to hide? Exactly when will we find out what happened to the 53 million dollars that isn't accounted for? Or should we " Forget about the past and move forward". Here is a good question...........Who does the taxpayers hold responsible when someone is seriously hurt or killed when the response time is slowed due to these decisions that the adminstration just made? I can answer that it will be the Fire Department's fault, just as they are taking all the hits now. In this day and age we live in, is it really a wise move to give taxpayers less protection and hope on a wing and a prayer that it will work out? The "All Knowing" really need to take a step back and look at the big picture before making these clueless decisions.
