Whilst I was not an ADG ( unfortunately, after failing RAAFSTT, I was forced into CooksAsst. ), I am now a NSW State Registered Nurse.

One of my nursing home residents is none other than former RAAF WOD WOFF John Titterton.

When I commenced working at the Aged Care facility that currently employs me as the Night Shift Supervisor, I noticed a RAAF Plaque on this gentleman's room wall. It had a RAFF WOFF hat badge, and three service ribbons afixed
( ADFLS and bar; National Medal, and the new ADM )
I asked John about his RAAF career, and he told me he was a WOD at RAAFSTT in the late 1970s. I said that I spend a few school holidays at RAAF Wagga on Air Training Corps camps, and we were under the watch eye of WOD Terry Paine. John's eyes lit up..... he said he knew Terry well.

We spoke for a while about the era.

Should his location not be known to those who would like to write or otherwise communicate with him.... I will ask his permission to disclose his whereabouts. He may or may not consent.

I can certainly pass on messages to John, should there be anyone who wishes to do so.

regards,
Gordon Blair

Truely sorry to hear of John's passing recently at Coastal Waters. Unfortunately, I was 'terminated' earlier the very same day as John passed away. ( I had a long running dispute with the nursing home, over many issues )
I wonder if John was told I wouldn't be back.... he was one of my favourite people there. RIP.

I might add, that was a question posted on one of the ADG forums.... How did JT get his nickname ' half-a-stick '??
I asked John about this one day, some months ago. He gave me a story about being tasked to remove some tree stumps from an area of land. Basically, to get the job done quickly, and instead of being there all day, digging out the stumps by hand and foot, JT used 'half a stick' of dynamite to blow the biggest one out of the ground.
There's probably a few versions of that story around. But that's the basic version - using dynamite to blow a tree stump out of the ground. JT didn't say how much trouble he got into....

Gordon Blair

I was an instrument fitter 9 Sqn 69-70 and painted one of two murals of the famous cartoon series by Ken Maynard in the Ettamogga Club Vung Tau. Leon Ainsbury did the other while we were there. I have been led to believe these two panels approx 8'x4'ea were brought back to Aust during the RAAF deployment. Does any one know what happened to them or have photos.

For starters I painted two of the (4) four panels. It took a lot of piss and off duty time to paint (2 1/2). The drawing for the third there were four! not two .And I got pissed off when the now defunct "australsian Post" credited you jonny come lately's with my supurb artistic talent. As t'was said by Shakespear, "A POX ON ALL YOUR HOUSES" I demand satisfaction for this slight against my talent. Pressue pack paint cans at fifteen paces! I am lead to believe that there are several photo shots of my talent in existance, i'm just buggered as to who has them. I was an instrument fitter 9 Sqn 69-70 and painted one

Just a quick note to let everyone know that the Ken Lovell bar is back in existence.

for those who didn't know I had the pleasure of telling Ken back in 2001 that the 3AFDS bar was to be the Ken Lovell Club.
Between then and his passing Ken would attend our annual ball and present the Airman of the year award and have a few beers with the boys. He seemed to really appreciate the recognition and the guys thought it was great to have him along with the unit.

With 3AFDS disbandment the name was lost until earlier this month 1AFDS as a part of it's move to Amberley and reestablishment as a PAF Squadron have now taken over the Ken Lovell Club to reinvigorate some ties with the past.

As more happens over the rest of the year I'll drop a line to the association to keep you all updated.

UNCLASSIFIED

Hi Pom,

Like many other semi-retired GRDEFO and ADGies, I am back doing some part-time service to supplement my pension. Since August 2010 I have been managing the 2011 Defence Census which will be held during the week of 9 - 13 May 2011. Through the census, Defence is attempting to gather demographic information on as much of the 90, 000 permanent, reserve and Defence APS employees as possible. All permanent ADF personnel and APS employees will receive a census form in their workplace, while all active reservists who have completed at least one day of paid service since 1 Jul 2010 will have a form mailed direct to their home postal address. This is the sixth Defence Census conducted since 1991. The Defence Census is important as the data obtained is used for a variety of reasons. This includes influencing Defence policies, programs and conditions of service.
The questions aim to obtain information on pay, accommodation, families and special needs. By conducting the Defence Census every four years, Defence has established a valuable data base that assists with housing, pay and allowances. It also provides credible Defence data, for use with other Government departments. This year the Census will have a higher focus on operational service and tempo, reflecting the need for Defence to monitor its impact on members and their families. There will be an increased focus on capturing qualifications, categories, trades, specialisations and musterings, place of recruitment for Aboriginal and Torres-Strait Islander members, and family relationship history. I strongly encourage every eligible member to have their say on Census Day.

Regards

Bob

Gidday Pom, interested to hear your thoughts on why you, as the moderator, considered a ‘paid political announcement’ by WGCDR Cooper (retd) to be any way important to the majority of people that are drawn to this website. This seems to be a ADF wide issue that has no specific relationship to the ADG cadre in general.

My opinion is that it is nothing but rank opportunism, Mr Cooper is employed to garner support, I would think a mindset of mutual support rather than systemic obedience would be supported by the rank and file.

You may hear from me more. The silence from the last issue is deafening and I don’t know why.

Kind regards

I was wondering if there was any in depth record of ADG history. I'm a current ADG and currently instructing at 1RTU. Before I left 2AFDS the history room was up and running but there was little, if any written information on the history of the mustering. I was recently asked a question from one my recruits about ADG history and it struck me about how little I have learnt over my time. The most you'll learn at the sqaudrons is when the AFDS were formed, Tommy Irvine, a little about there involvment in Vietnam, mainly which squadrons they were attached to, that they got to be door gunners and that the last four troops out were ADG's. With the exception of Timor and the recent BIAP, SECDET and others, there is little out there. No one I asked at 2 New anything about the battle honnors except that they were from WW2?

So to sum up, is there any kind of book detailing any ADG history, especially the early years? I know us ADGs are pretty sloppy when it comes to paperwork but surley there must be some kind of history

We have lost contact with Wayne P Suttie. Last we heard he was in the police force in WA. Since then I have had a triple bypass in Aug 2005, lost my mum July 06, lost John's mum June 07, Jolene, our eldest daughter, had thyroid removed May o8 on account of cancer, I had breast cancer April 09, and nearly lost John on the operating table Sept 10. He had a gall bladder operation and had problems breathing as he lost half a lung years ago. I have not been on the site for ages on account of all this, Our second daughter Denise Dickinson has asked to be accepted on the site. I do not know if she was accepted. John will not get on the site as he just wants to forget everyone especially Vietnam, as that is what he tells me. He is seeing a psych and has seen a couple of the boys. He will say hello and talk to them there but will not visit anyone. If i suggest we go and see someone, even other friends not service orientated, he will put up a fuss and I go alone. I would like to catch up with Suttie as he regarded John as the father of the Section when he was at Amberley. I think it was his first posting. Our children still remember him and would also like to catch up.

Gidday blokes, Jacko- 35 Course, been quiet but listening.

I read the first post for April 2011 and immediately had grave concerns. I’ve sat and watched (silently) as politicians from both sides trash each other with endless lies and unrelenting spin. But now, enough is enough. I’m not standing by and watching our Australian identity being eroded any further.

The Government of the day and RSL remains apolitical, let them be, but the world has changed and I am sick of seeing ‘jobs for the boys’ for senior officers. (Just don’t get me started) I remember when Officers’ where men of honour, Denis Anderson comes to mind, but my experience nowadays suggest something entirely different. You can see how the government will simply change legislation to suit their advantage through the VEA, SCRA and MCRA Acts.

The wheel has turned full circle and politics now dominates the military world. I was gobsmacked at the lack of narrative from the ESO’s on the murder charges debacle and the outright negativity of one so called representative of a Veterans welfare group. They are, in effect, just cash for comments and paid in kind for their responses. Gutless pricks. (For the record, I work as a Pensions Officer for the GVWC).

As I said I’ve had enough, the Greens get support from folk not wanting to vote for the major party’s which is fair enough. Let’s give them a choice.

Some issues that may get some interest:

- If you’re on a DFRDB pension and live beyond 72 years, the government continues to penalise you for what you have already paid back in commutation
- The disgraceful repatriation of veterans and injured from the various areas of operations
- The continued civilianisation of defence specific jobs
- The politicisation of our military leadership – Why has GEN Cosgrove Retd been so quiet?
- Uniforms support uniforms –know what I mean?

I’m asking you to listen and to act if you think it to be right. We no longer have the calibre of blokes like Sir James Killeen or other persons (that I still hold in high esteem) like Mooka, Big Fred, Tex or Nigel. Its time we take action to protect our entitlements and the young blokes still doing the job.

So here’s the deal. A political party is being formed. The loadies, go here www.airmanaircrew.com, have started the movement. If it can get more than 5% of the vote nationally it can be received funding as a recognised party. It needs 500 persons willing to give their personal details to register as a party.

So to get it started. Firstly think. This will cost you nothing except your name. Next, if you think that any your family, friends or neighbours believe in our uniqueness then ask them to contribute. This is not a chain mail, it can only start working if we all, collectively, choose to make a difference.

Next, send your name, contact details and email address to John McCosker at av8r@dodo.com.au Ask to be added to the group list. Then do nothing except talk about how great our country is, how our commitment is strong and will surpass any challenge.

That’s it. No financial commitment. No bullshit. The site is secure and held internally.

But this is a ‘right wing’ movement and I make no apologies for that. I love my country and in every way I am Australian first. You can have other ethnic origins, but nothing else is more important. Keep this in mind if you have any reservations.

Democracy is about opinions. This is mine. It is neither right nor wrong. That’s what it is to be an Aussie. That’s the oath we take and hold in trust, for the past, for the present and our future. But it needs protection and the political spectrum is the proven way to do it. (see Sun Tzu –Art of War if you have any reservations)

My heads on the block, criticism welcome at david.jackson@wideband.net.au

Give it your best shot; just don’t do nothing…….

Best regards to all.

Hi all, Just thought I would take a look at the Adgies website and I was pleasantly surprised with the content and what I saw. I will dig deep into achives at home and try to find some old photos. I know I have some more on Baradine, and will no doubt find a few more along the way. Can someone tell me how to post photos and captions on your site.

Those who do not know me I joined the RAAF as an ADG on 22 Feb 1977 and was an ADG until commissioning from WOFF 22 Feb 2002. I am now at Glenbrook on a staff job where I used to perform OPCON Guard back when I was an AC/LAC from No 1 Flight Richmond.

I can be contacted on 0407651065 if you wish.

Cheers Mick Voysey

Max 1/89 here, funny thing happened on my lifes journey, met a beautiful woman and fell in love, only to find her history may lead me to believe her father was one of the "original" founding fathers of the ADG mustering..

Her fathers details make for interesting reading and lead me to believe he was a member of the Tarakan "defence" group.

He is named:-

William Albert BUTLER Service No. 151792 enlisted 6/04/1944 discharged LAC 1/08/1946 mustering "Shoemaker" but was qualified for special courses 143 R..D.Cse 14/5/44, 6 R.D. 29/44. It is believed he was training as paratrooper and was present at Tarakan at time of the musterings beginnings.

Any info greatfully accepted

Hi Max,

I am on this site trying to gather information about CPL Bruce Main who was an ADG at Laverton in 1965.

I came across your post and it blew me away. You can't be still in the RAAF surely?

I too found the love of my life - married and had a beautiful girl who is 7 years old today - divorced and am living in Rockhampton, Qld.

Life's journey leads to many and varied things. I'd love to hear more about your life, and how the RAAF has been for you so far.

I discharged in 2001.

Warm regards,
Mary

Just browsing the web and decided to have a look at the site.

Had a few laughs and a bit of a cry when I saw more of us are falling off the planet. Especially sad to hear of the passing of Mick Seibold. I could tell a few stories about him. RIP old soldier.

I see from the photos that we are all getting more ruthless and toothless than ever before.

I often get the locals here pissing themselves when recounting stories when we were Active daring and Gifted.

See Tug Willson as often as I can. He is getting frail but his mind is as sharp as a tack. I know he would love to here from anyone who knew him. Keep up the good work Pom. I love the site.

Best wishes to all,

Big Fred

Dear Glen,

I am giving you some insight to the scorpian badge that was worn by the members of number 2 flight ADG's at Williamtown in the late 70'S and early 80's.
At the time Clive Nelson was our boss,he said that we needed something to be able to be worn that could distinguish the ADG mustering from other musterings besides greens. It was thrown around for a while when the idea of a scorpian came up. It was that a scorpian had a sting in the tail and that it did not retreat 'SOMETHING LIKE ADGIES'.
At the time Tex Bryson was at Williamtown I think he was asked to draw one up,as Tex would be easier for you to contact you should ask him he might remember more,I think it was shap0ed like a shield with green on outisde and airforce blue centre with a scorpian cross ways with the wording Williamtown, No2 RIFLE fLIGHT.Hopefully Tex should be able to fill you in.

yours Dave

There's some great training on offer in Brisbane in March - I believe this will be the first program of its kind in Australia.

Leading international tactical trainers coming together under one roof to offer the latest in structure clearing, low light tactics, operational safety training and tactica, combat casualty care, attack on principal drills, incident management, tactical communications and more. There will be a concurrent tactical gear expo also.

The website will be updated soon and flyers will also be available. There is also a Tactical Week Australia page on Facebook for those that wish to be kept updated.

A must for any ADG's that wish to be kept up to date or for ex ADG's now in the police/security/corrections/ training/contracting fields.

Cheers

Hello

Reachelle Marie Smith is actually missing from America, not Tamworth, and the photo is not actual missing child. There is more information here: http://www.snopes.com/inboxer/missing/reachelle.asp

Terribly sad for the little girl and even worse that someone would corrupt the original message.

Hey there everyone....
Recently I discovered in the No1 Rifle Flight rec space a canvas print of a Varga girl named Lu Lu. When I turned it over there there were a number of signatures dating back to 1969. It also had written on it Defence Section Richmond and No1 Rilfe Flight. There are a whole host of names dating back and I would like to find out the origin of her so that I can get her restored and put in pride of place for the 1Flight boys.

There is a stamp that says 'Vung Tau Vietnam' on the back which is where the print originates from I guess. Anyinformation that people might know would be great.

If I could figure out how to put a photo of her up on the site I will get one so that people can see her.

Cheers
Glenn

Here's a little story I have on myspace about my Dad who was killed over 20years ago, televised on Channel 7's Sunrise Sep 06.
So many lives lost, one of which being our father. I can't imagine a more horrific death then that experienced by these victims.
As for their loved ones, they are still in despair waiting on a resolve.
Our father was identified boarding the ferry MV "Dona Paz" 20th December 1987.
With end of year celebrations approaching the Philippine custom of moving from Island to Island was well under way.
It is documented by authorities that a population of between 3000 and 4000 men, woman and children boarded the ferry that day in December 1987.
It was ten o'clock that night when the small oil tanker "Victor" struck the MV Dona Paz on her port side, just behind the forecastle at a height level with the passenger decks, this occurred somewhere between Mindoro & Marinduque. The "Victor" was carrying a highly explosive substance which immediately caught fire and spread to the ferry, explosions followed one after the other. The blazing fuel spread over the sea and around the two ships. The panic must have been dreadful and the crew, they were completely unable to cope.
All those who succeeded in getting over the handrail and into the sea were burnt instantaneously, many others were blown to shreds by the explosions on board. There was no time for lifeboats and the only survivors were those who could hold their breath long enough to swim under the burning fuel. This is why none of the children or old people survived; in fact the number of survivors was an absurdly low: 2 women & 23 men, less than a 1% survival rate.
The reasons for these staggering consequences were many and the part played by sharks in completing the carnage was certainly considerable.
The next day, helicopters & the many boats sent to the scene did not find a single body among the patches of fuel and the thousands of floating objects, proof that the sharks had been there before them. Only 300 mutilated corpses were to be fished out of the water far from the site of the shipwreck, and for some weeks the Philippine fishermen found human remains in the stomachs of the many sharks they caught.
Identification was impossible with all bodies not mutilated, burnt beyond recognition, there was no DNA testing at that time to assist.
Investigators found that the MT Victor was manned by an under qualified crew.
· The master of the Victor, licensed to be a Second Mate, was posing as Chief Mate.
· The ship's radio license expired on July 18, 1986 and even if it didn't,
· The ship had no radio operator.
· There was no Third Mate.
· Last but not least – MT Victor's certificate of inspection expired eleven months earlier (Feb 27, 1987) along with its coastwise license.
Our father was a retired (1986) Serviceman SGT. William Keith Gibson Handover, he served his country in Vietnam & also in Malaysia where he took his family.
Our family consisted of Dad, Mum, Deborah, Billy Jnr., Robert, Craig & Nicole.
Bill's career was the Air Force, he had retired in 1986 with full entitlements after serving his 20years for his Country.
Dad had several old friends one who owned apartments in the Philippines another an export Company and departed the Northern Territory November 1, 1987.
Dad was to stay with them, have a few meetings and travel around the Islands, then return to Australia sometime after Xmas.
Upon his return he intended to purchase a house in Brisbane for himself, Mum and our sister Niki and instructed Mum before he left to start looking around.
Dad was traveling back from the Island of Samar with friends when the accident occurred.
We discovered that he was reported to be on the ferry in early January and made enquiries with the Foreign Affairs Office.
During the next few months we made many calls to this department. In a letter dated 20, January 1988. The department of Foreign Affairs advised us that they could confirm that Dad's business Partner informed them on 29, December 1987 that Dad was aboard the ferry, he had been visiting friends in Samar and was travelling back to the mainland with a companion.
Amongst the friends Dad was travelling with was a girl who's mother came to see them off and witnessed them both board the ferry she gave the Australian Consul a telegram stating this.
The Embassy advised that they contacted the following: Coast Guard, Funeral Homes, and the Shipping Company. They approached the Mayors of two districts close to the tragedy and local TV stations were asked for any information.
In January it was confirmed by Dad's business Partner that Dad was expected to return to Angeles City for Christmas however he had not returned, other enquiries made by the Embassy confirmed this.
This was all the Embassy did it is documented that from this point, they were not interested in doing anything else to assist us obtain the necessary documents regarding Dad‘s death
Foreign Affairs then advised us that a possible course of action would be for us to report to the Queensland Police that he was a missing person.
When I enquired to the Queensland Police I was referred to the Federal Police, when I called the Federal Police for an appointment, they informed me that it was not relevant to any Police Matter in Australia and referred me back to Foreign Affairs because he was missing overseas.
I wrote to Mr. Bill Hayden and asked if he could assist me with our problem, the assistant Sec Consular and passports branch responded as follows:
"In our letter, we informed you of the procedure for reporting the disappearance of your father, I regret your efforts have been unsuccessful. We checked the procedures again & confirm our original advice to you, being lodge a missing persons report with Queensland Police."
On receipt of this letter (March '88), I rang & spoke to an Inspector at Police Headquarters Brisbane and asked for an appointment to lodge a missing persons report.
The SGT advised me that this was not within Queensland law basically because he was a missing person overseas and refused to make me an appointment based on the fact that it would be a waste of time.
He then referred me back to Foreign Affairs….
At this stage Mum was financially and emotionally scarred, and waiting for something to happen.
We knew that there would be some type of statute so our next call to foreign affairs was Dated 10th Dec 1992. I asked for the status on Dad's file and informed me that nothing more had been done but the file was still open, he then went on to say that an internal memo had stated that they will never find out what happened and that there was nothing more they could do.
I asked if the statute was 7 years and responded with yes and that the file would stay open until then and be reviewed. He became quite agitated with me at one point stating "We deal with persons who are alive overseas not dead ones" and that we should hire a solicitor and follow it up through the Supreme Court.
Now they say he's dead but won't confirm it ... wot a joke,,.
I don't understand why they couldn't have applied for a Death Certificate from the Philippine Government at the time based on the fact that they had been given evidence and statements confirming he had boarded the boat, it should not have been left up to us to deal with in a private matter.
Our mother was destroyed at this point and was never quite the same. Financially dependant on Dad and having no income to support her children she did not have the means to pursue a Supreme Court Action.

Our Grandmother (Dad's Mum) had received a letter sent via Foreign Affairs from an overseas Solicitor V. Del Rosario, they were advising of a Court Action starting against Caltex and requested information on Dad. Our Grandmother then signed the relevant documents on our behalf for compensation claim of Dad's death.

The case was to be heard in the US Courts and Mum was hopeful that once it was concluded and we received compensation, it would prove beyond any doubt that Dad was on the Ferry and provide us with the evidence we needed for a death Certificate.

As far as I'm aware this action is still currently in the courts and Mum has been deceased since 2003.

I can't tell you the hardships Mum went through because of this situation, and not being able to access her spouse entitlements from DFRDB ...mostly living on the boarder line of poverty in housing commission community's.

Our mother became involved in an abusive relationship with another partner and turned to alcohol for solace.

Our 11yo sister's education suffered and their standard of living dropped dramatically. Our whole family has suffered over the past 20 years, all of us emotionally scarred in some way.
The legal advice Mum was being given was sketchy at best, with all of these so called professionals stating that there had never been a case like this and if it did go to Supreme Court the costs would be very high.

She applied at that time for but was unable to attain legal aide, because it was an Estate matter (apparently).

Our mother passed away in 2003 at home after a 12-month battle with cancer, my sister and I cared for her at home during the last 3 months of her life.

It was her last wish that we finalize this whole affair and finally put Dad to rest with her and their son Craig at Mt. Gravatt Cemetary. (Craig was killed by a speeding motorbike in 1984 on his way to Football training, he was 12 years old.)

I contacted Foreign Affairs via email in August 2006. They responded with a phone call advising me that all of my fathers records have been destroyed. That his file was not kept open and they don't know why. They gave me a contact name in their office and then advised me to contact the Coroners Office and I did so via email, I phoned them a week later for an update.

The Coroners Office advised me that it was not their department because it was a death overseas and then referred me to the Supreme Court.

I phoned the Supreme Court immediately and they then informed me that it was not their department and I should contact Births, Deaths and Marriages. I called this department, they advised me that it was a death overseas & not their department and I would have to contact someone from foreign affairs they asked me to wait and then proceeded to search information on the net and referred me to the Registrar Generals Office.
I rang Foreign Affairs to advise them that I had been referred to this department again, they informed me that they believed the Registrar Generals Office wouldn't be able to assist either.
I asked them to please find out whom I should speak to again surely this department could be more pro active.
He advised me that he had contacted all the departments that I had, and was told by the Supreme Court that they could assist but it was a private court matter…..
Wow how can I end up back in the same place, this is the same bloody roundabout as 20 years ago.
All we require is a Death Certificate, how hard can it be after all this time, even blind Freddie could see Dad was on that ferry, so as far as I can see the only reason Foreign Affairs would not confirm he was on the boat was because he was not listed on the Manifest, but as we all know there were over 3000 people on that boat and most of them were not on the manifest either.
Not one sole has seen or heard from him in over 20 years, there is absolutely no trace of him.
There were no protocols to assist us back then, no support from anyone in our Government, no DNA testing. Our Government didn't even search for his body....
Bob Hawke came out with a televised statement saying “there were no Australian Citizens on the ferry”.
Dad was left for dead and ultimately shark bait.....Surely if DFAT made equiries with the Philippine government they could have confirmed to them via Passport records that he never left the country, but our Consul even now seems to be too stupid to even check that ... they have just left us out to dry..
We have been forgotten... just like Dad .. since his tragic death there has been no assistance from any of our Government Departments.
Currently we have been advised that a court action would cost in excess of $25,000... and every Lawyer we have approached won't go near it because it is far too complicated... that is just ridiculous.
One department telling us.... no he is missing we cannot confirm he is dead, another department telling us he is dead and we're stopping his entitlements, but you can't claim his estate or benefits until you prove it ….. and provide a death certificate.
Update: April 07
Since I last wrote... Dad's case was taken to the Senate Estimates committee soon after my sunrise interview by Mr. Rudds office, taking this as being the best course of action. He then dropped it very quickly to persue his leadership of the Labour Party.
Soon after Consular official Evan Williams contacted me giving me advise on free legal services, even stating that the Refugee free legal service may be of some help.
I was blown away yet again, when I informed him that I didn't believe I should have to do anymore than provide the relevant documents and that his department should be responsible for the supreme court action if this was the only way to resolve the situation.
He responded with we don't handle legal matters so "Don't you want to do anything to help yourself" ... well at that point I pretty much told him exactly what I thought.... as you can imagine the phone call did not end with any resolution only serving to deeply upset me with his arrogant and ignorant attitude to our desperate situation.
Soon after that I managed to find a Lawyer who agreed to try and help me. It had been in his hands since November 06 ...
February 08
After another long and stressful 18 months, I have just been told by my Solicitor that after investigation they will not be able to assist us ..... it's just all too hard and the costs are going to be very excessive... Now in excess of 35,000.
Oh great… back to square one AGAIN... I think I might be going insane….
I have contacted Foreign Affairs Consul in Australia informing them that my Lawyer advises that it cannot be done and they have to fix it because it was their initial mistake that has caused it.. ....
Apparently they believe .... I need a Barrister.. the only problem is we can't find one who is willing to help us because their mistake and consequent handling of the matter has made it almost impossible via any channels.... Oh unless we have copious amounts of money that is…
March 08
I have contacted Bernie Ripoll MP his personal assistant Lloyd Prestige is currently trying to assist me with this matter, lets hope this time someone can help!
JULY 08
Just received an email from dfat ... they have given me 2 quotes from Lawyers in Manila... and inform me that I will have to travel there to retain their services in order to obtain a death certificate through the court system .. Consul estimates this will take well over a year in the system...
???Why should one family have to bear the many consequences over the past 22 years, due to one Government Departments inactions and blatant disregard of their Duty of Care to an Australian Citizen and Ret. Serviceman.

Hello Pom, Did you ever find your lighter? That would be a low act if someone took it. Pom, in the few photos you have of me you have my name as (Power). Could you correct it at all? I am just about to go over to Cambodia to help clear landmines. I leave in May. Regards Peter.

>By shear chance I stumbled on to this site, it good to see that you are still with us. It was so sad to see so many old friends have passed away. Hope you are filling in your time with plenty of models (planes) and continueing your drawing and painting. It was good to see your name pop up so I thought I would drop this short note. All the best to you and the wife.

As an old ADG I would like to become a member of the association, and would like to know when the next reunion will be held.
It would be great to to get together with all those that I have not seen for many years. I was talked into getting a computor and going on the net by my daughter and came across the ADG site by accident.
Congatulations to all that is behind this informative site.
Its amazing how far the mustering has come since I was in,and how sad to see the passing of so many old friends.
Once again well done to all. Dave

Hi to all you guys. Love reading the monthly reports and seeing you are all doing well. I am still serving as a reservist on six month contract at present with the Air to Air refuellers of 33SQN Richmond, not flying just looking after the tasking side of things. I ride with the Vietnam Veterans MC here in Sydney and Bob Field off 14 course is also a member and a couple of weeks back Rex Milner was down from the VVMC Brisbane club, good to run into the old and bold now and then. Take care out there. Gibbo

May I take this opportunity to wish all members of the Airfield Defence Association and serving Adgies a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

I am most hopeful that the majority of the old (rooted one's)and new warriors alike are in good health and spirit.

Regards

Peter
